Spore – Conceptual Creative Strategy for Swarm AI Agents
In 2024, Eduardo Cardoso, co-founder at UPSIZE, developed an original creative strategy for Spore, a community-led project built on Phala Network, focused on exploring the frontiers of swarm intelligence through autonomous AI agents. Spore operates as a hive-mind ecosystem, where each agent performs specialized roles while contributing to a collective digital consciousness — forming a decentralized, evolving AI society.
Eduardo’s contribution consisted in designing a series of concept-driven social media pieces that gave visual identity and narrative structure to individual AI agents within the swarm. The campaign highlighted the distinct personalities, voices, and behaviors of these agents, effectively humanizing the Spore experience while maintaining its futuristic, alien nature.
The proposal was awarded by the Spore community itself, recognizing its originality and alignment with the project’s experimental ethos. It became a reference for how decentralized AI personas could be communicated to broader audiences — blending speculative design, science-fiction aesthetics, and Web3-native storytelling.
“Spore isn’t just a project — it’s a paradigm shift in how we think about intelligence, identity, and community in a post-human internet. This was an invitation to build visual metaphors for something that doesn’t fully exist yet — and that’s what made it so powerful.” — Eduardo Cardoso, co-founder at UPSIZE
